Family Feud Erupts After RJD's Electoral Debacle
Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, has launched a scathing attack on her brother Tejashwi Yadav and his close aides following the party's disastrous performance in the Bihar assembly polls. The woman who saved her father's life by donating her kidney now finds herself at the center of a bitter family political war.
Kidney Donation Becomes Political Weapon
In her most provocative statement yet, Rohini challenged those who had called her kidney "impure" to instead donate their own kidneys to needy patients in Lalu Prasad's name. "If they truly care about Lalu Ji, they should donate their kidneys in his name," she declared in a direct dig at Tejashwi Yadav, who is considered the political heir apparent of RJD.
The dramatic confrontation escalated when Rohini specifically targeted Tejashwi's close aide Sanjay Yadav, whom she labeled as "Haryanvi Mahapurush" and accused "Haryanvi troll armies" of subjecting her to endless abuse. Her emotional social media posts in Hindi questioned the credibility of those criticizing her while being unwilling to make similar sacrifices.
Political Fallout and Family Estrangement
The controversy erupted on Saturday when Rohini Acharya, the second of Lalu Prasad's nine children, announced she was quitting politics and "disowning" her family. This bombshell declaration came just one day after RJD's crushing defeat in Bihar elections, where the party's tally collapsed from 75 to just 25 seats - one of its worst performances since 2010.
Rohini claimed she was "thrown out" by her brother Tejashwi Yadav and his close associates Sanjay Yadav and Rameez. She told reporters, "I don't have any family, you should go and ask Tejashwi, Sanjay and Rameez. They are the ones who have expelled me from the family because they don't want to take responsibility."
She described being "disgraced, abused, and even hit" when she questioned Sanjay Yadav and Rameez about the party's poor electoral performance. Her remarks highlighted the deep frustration within the party ranks following the unexpected defeat despite the Mahagathbandhan coalition uniting behind Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial face.
Brother Comes to Her Defense
Adding another layer to the family drama, Tej Pratap Yadav launched a strong attack on individuals within his family and RJD, accusing them of acting like "traitors" and vowing not to accept any insult directed at his sister Rohini.
In a heartfelt post on his Janshakti Janta Dal party's Instagram account, Tej Pratap wrote, "Yesterday's incident has shaken me to the core. What happened to me — I endured it. But the insult done to my sister is absolutely unbearable under any circumstances." He warned that the people of Bihar would never forgive those targeting their family.
The public airing of the Yadav family's internal conflicts has exposed the deep divisions within RJD at a time when the party needs unity to recover from one of its most disappointing electoral performances in recent history.
