Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh emphasized this change, stating to ANI, "To end the VIP culture, we have named all our enclosures for the Republic Day parade after Indian rivers." Udyog Bhawan Metro Station for South Side
Spectators with tickets for southern side enclosures such as Beas, Brahmaputra, Chambal, Chenab, Gandak, Ganga, Ghagra, Godavari, Sindhu, and Jhelum are advised to alight at Udyog Bhawan Metro Station. This strategic guidance aims to reduce overcrowding and facilitate easy access.
Central Secretariat Metro Station for North Side
Those holding tickets for northern side enclosures, including Kaveri, Kosi, Krishna, Mahanadi, Narmada, Pennar, Periyar, Ravi, Son, Satluj, Teesta, Vaigai, and Yamuna, should exit at Central Secretariat Metro Station. This organized approach helps manage the large influx of visitors efficiently.
Republic Day Parade 2026: Entry Requirements and Facilities
Entry to the enclosures is strictly permitted only for individuals with a valid Republic Day Parade ticket, which must be presented along with a government-issued ID card, either in physical or digital form. Visitors are encouraged to adhere to their designated enclosures to prevent overcrowding, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Late arrivals will not be granted entry to maintain order and security.
For those not utilizing the metro, a convenient Park & Ride facility has been established at JLN Stadium and Palika Bazaar. QR codes on parking passes will guide visitors to their assigned parking lots, ensuring a hassle-free arrival and departure process.
Republic Day Parade 2026: Schedule and Ceremonial Highlights
The ceremony will commence at 10:30 am and last approximately 90 minutes. It will begin with Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting the National War Memorial to lay a wreath and pay solemn tributes to fallen heroes. Following this, the Prime Minister and other dignitaries will proceed to the saluting dais at Kartavya Path to witness the parade.
President Droupadi Murmu, accompanied by the President of the European Council and the President of the European Commission, will be escorted in the 'Traditional Buggy' by the President's Bodyguard, the senior-most regiment of the Indian Army. As per tradition, the National Flag will be unfurled, followed by the National Anthem and a thunderous 21-gun salute using indigenously developed 105 mm Light Field Guns, presented by the 1721 Ceremonial Battery of the 172nd Field Regiment.
The parade will feature President Murmu taking the salute, with a total of 30 tableaux—17 from States and Union Territories, and 13 from Ministries, Departments, and Services—rolling down the path. These tableaux will revolve around the themes 'Swatantrata ka Mantra: Vande Mataram' and 'Samriddhi ka Mantra: Aatmanirbhar Bharat', showcasing India's journey towards self-reliance and patriotic fervor.
Republic Day Parade 2026: Security Arrangements
Delhi Police has implemented a multi-layered security net for the Republic Day celebrations, with over 30,000 personnel deployed citywide. In the New Delhi district alone, which encompasses the ceremonial parade route and high-security zones, around 10,000 police personnel are stationed, as officials informed PTI.
Advanced surveillance measures include more than 3,000 CCTV cameras equipped with video analytics and a Facial Recognition System (FRS) installed across the New Delhi area, particularly along the parade route and nearby locations.
