Rajnath Singh to Open Nagpur Ammo Plant, Discusses Warfare Tech

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to visit Nagpur in Maharashtra this Sunday. He will inaugurate a new medium-calibre ammunition facility built by Solar Industries. Singh announced his plans on social media platform X, expressing his eagerness for the January 18 event.

Tour of Defence Units in Nagpur

During his Nagpur trip, the Defence Minister will also inspect Economic Explosives Limited. This is another important defence-related unit located in the city. The visit underscores the government's focus on boosting domestic defence manufacturing capabilities.

Recent Remarks on Modern Warfare

Just two days before his Nagpur visit, Singh addressed a gathering in Jaipur. He spoke at the 'Shaurya Sandhya' event held at Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The event marked the celebration of the 78th Army Day.

Praise for Armed Forces

Singh commended the Indian armed forces for their adaptability to changing warfare technologies. He specifically highlighted their performance during Operation Sindoor. This military response followed the tragic Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir.

Operation Sindoor Details

The Defence Minister confirmed that Operation Sindoor continues its mission. "I congratulate the Army on the success of Operation Sindoor," Singh stated. "But Operation Sindoor is not over. We will continue until terrorism as an ideology is wiped out."

Operation Sindoor was launched in the early hours of May 7, 2025. It targeted terror camps located across the border in Pakistan. The operation successfully eliminated at least 100 terrorists. This action responded directly to the April 22 Pahalgam attack where Pakistan-backed terrorists killed 26 civilians.

Changing Nature of Warfare

Singh emphasized that contemporary warfare extends far beyond traditional gun battles. He identified several new domains that now play crucial roles in military conflicts. These include cyber attacks, drone technology, and space-based systems.

The Defence Minister also noted the growing influence of communication technologies. Mobile phones, television broadcasts, and media platforms significantly impact modern warfare strategies. Operation Sindoor demonstrated how these elements combine with conventional military operations.

National Confidence in Armed Forces

According to Singh, Operation Sindoor showcased the nation's complete trust in its military capabilities. The successful operation reinforced public confidence in the armed forces' ability to respond decisively to security threats. It also highlighted India's determination to combat terrorism effectively.

The Defence Minister's Nagpur visit and his recent comments together highlight India's dual approach to defence. This combines strengthening domestic manufacturing with adapting to technological warfare evolution. Both aspects remain crucial for national security in today's complex geopolitical landscape.
