Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Praises Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami as 'Dhurandhar Dhami'
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday lauded Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's leadership abilities, bestowing upon him the title "Dhurandhar Dhami." Addressing a public gathering in Uttarakhand to mark the completion of four years of the state government, Singh expressed immense pride and confidence in the administration led by CM Dhami, attributing the state's significant growth and development directly to his leadership.
Singh Recalls Election Predictions and Uttarakhand's Achievements
During his speech, Rajnath Singh reminisced about the state elections, revealing that he had personally assured Dhami of a BJP victory under his stewardship. "This gathering has been organised to mark the completion of Pushkar Dhami's four-year tenure. During the elections, I had told him that the BJP would win under his leadership, and the BJP achieved a clear majority," Singh stated. He further elaborated, "I had said in a meeting once, 'Our Dhami is not ordinary, he is Dhakad Dhami... now, he should be called Dhurandhar Dhami. Uttarakhand has secured a leading position in the country across several sectors."
Reflections on Uttarakhand's Formation and Spiritual Heritage
The Defence Minister also shared personal anecdotes from his political career, highlighting his brief tenure as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and his role in the state's creation. "The land of Uttarakhand is the land of the Gods (Devbhoomi). I also served as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for 10-12 days. It was during my tenure as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh that Uttarakhand was created," Singh recalled. He emphasized the state's cultural and spiritual significance, noting, "Uttarakhand is a land of faith, spirituality, culture, and sages; it is revered as a place of penance."
Addressing Global Tensions and PM Modi's Diplomatic Stance
Shifting focus to international affairs, Rajnath Singh reflected on the ongoing tensions in West Asia, underscoring the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government's commitment to resolving conflicts through peaceful means. "Today, the entire world is passing through a period of crisis. This is a matter of concern not just for India, but for the whole world. Even today, our Prime Minister has said that the solution to war will not come through war itself, but through dialogue and diplomacy," he asserted. Singh stressed that a resolution to global issues must be pursued through conversation and diplomatic efforts.
Praise for PM Modi's Crisis Management and Global Leadership
Furthermore, the Defence Minister lauded Prime Minister Modi's proactive measures in averting potential crises in energy and fertilizer supplies, which could have arisen due to international conflicts. "Given the current global crisis, it is possible that, like other countries, we too could have faced an energy or fertilizer crisis. However, through his charismatic wisdom and foresight, our Prime Minister has so far prevented India from getting trapped in this crisis," Singh explained. He called for support from Uttarakhand in backing the Prime Minister's global initiatives.
In concluding remarks, Rajnath Singh highlighted India's elevated stature on the world stage under PM Modi's leadership. "Our Prime Minister has held India's head high in the world in a charismatic manner. Today, when India speaks on international platforms, the world listens with rapt attention," he added, reinforcing the government's diplomatic achievements and vision for peace and stability.
