Several parts of Rajasthan continued to experience intense heatwave conditions on Tuesday, with Sri Ganganagar recording a maximum temperature of 46.4 degrees Celsius, according to the weather department. The meteorological department has warned that heatwave conditions are likely to persist in parts of the state over the coming days.
Hottest Places in Rajasthan
Sri Ganganagar emerged as the hottest location in the state, with the mercury soaring to 46.4 degrees Celsius. Other cities also recorded high temperatures: Churu at 44.6 degrees, Pilani at 44.5 degrees, Phalodi at 43.8 degrees, and Jaisalmer and Bikaner both at 43.6 degrees. The state capital, Jaipur, recorded a maximum temperature of 41.8 degrees Celsius.
Weather Forecast for Western Rajasthan
According to the meteorological department, weather in western Rajasthan, particularly in the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions, is expected to remain mainly dry over the next two days. Maximum temperatures are likely to hover between 44 and 46 degrees, with heatwave conditions at isolated places. Strong dust-laden winds blowing at speeds of 20-30 kmph are also likely.
Possible Relief from June 11
A fresh western disturbance is expected to become active, leading to an increase in thunderstorm and rainfall activity across parts of the state from June 11. Between June 11 and 14, regions in the Bikaner, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Bharatpur divisions may witness thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds (50-60 kmph) and light to moderate rainfall at isolated places, the meteorological department said.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak hours. Authorities have also warned of potential health risks due to the extreme heat.
