Rahul Gandhi Calls LPG Price Hike 'Election Bill', Warns of Fuel Rise
Rahul Gandhi: LPG Price Hike Is 'Election Bill'

NEW DELHI: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Friday criticized the Rs 993 increase in commercial LPG cylinder prices, labeling it an 'election bill'. He stated that he had previously warned of a fuel price hike following the assembly elections. Gandhi further cautioned that the next increase would affect petrol and diesel prices.

Rahul Gandhi emphasized that the burden on dhabas, hotels, bakeries, and sweet shops would 'inevitably impact your plate as well', indicating a cascading effect on food costs.

Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal remarked that the Modi government had not wasted any time after the elections, and the BJP's concern for public suffering was limited to electoral periods. Congress leader Randeep Surjewala accused the BJP of using a 'double engine of deceit and oppression', leading to record unemployment, runaway inflation, and trapping families in debt for household expenses.
