PM Modi Inaugurates 594 km Ganga Expressway in UP

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 594-km Ganga Expressway on April 29, marking a major milestone in Uttar Pradesh's infrastructure development. Connecting Meerut to Prayagraj, the expressway is expected to significantly cut travel time and boost economic activity.

With an estimated cost of over ₹36,000 crore, the project features a six-lane access-controlled highway, expandable to eight lanes, and includes bridges, interchanges, and public utility zones. The expressway will reduce travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj from nearly 10 hours to about 6 hours, easing congestion on existing routes and spurring industrial growth along the corridor.

The Ganga Expressway is part of the Uttar Pradesh government's ambitious infrastructure push, aimed at improving connectivity and fostering economic development in the region. The project has been completed in a record time of about three years, with the state government acquiring land and expediting construction.
