Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation, hailing India's civil nuclear programme in the 133rd episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat. The Prime Minister said that this programme is making a significant contribution to nation-building.
Key Highlights from the Address
In his address, PM Modi shared several key points about India's achievements in science and technology. He emphasized that amid the hustle and bustle of the elections, the achievements of citizens should be celebrated.
India's Space and Nuclear Progress
Modi stated: "Amid the hustle and bustle of the elections, through your messages and letters, we have shared happiness on the achievements of the citizens. This time, let's start 'Mann Ki Baat' with one such very big achievement of the country. India has always viewed science as linked with the nation's progress. With this vision, our scientists are advancing the space programme. Due to their efforts, this programme is making a significant contribution to nation-building."
Historic Milestone in Nuclear Energy
The Prime Minister also highlighted a major achievement by India's nuclear scientists: "A few days back, our nuclear scientists made Bharat proud with another major achievement. In Tamil Nadu's Kalpakkam, the Fast Breeder Reactor has achieved criticality. This stage means the beginning of the reactor's operation phase. This is a historic milestone in Bharat's nuclear energy journey. And the big thing is that this nuclear reactor is built entirely with indigenous technology."
This achievement underscores India's commitment to self-reliance in advanced nuclear technology, contributing to the nation's energy security and scientific prowess.
