Indian Railways Adjusts Platform Numbers at Malda Town for Vande Bharat Sleeper Launch

Indian Railways has implemented temporary platform changes at Malda Town station. The adjustments affect thirty different trains over two days. This move aims to facilitate the smooth launch of India's first Vande Bharat Sleeper train.

Official Confirmation of Platform Revisions

Shibram Majhi, the Chief Public Relations Officer for Eastern Railway, confirmed the development. He stated the platform changes are temporary. They are necessary due to the inaugural run of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train.

"Yes, the platforms have been changed temporarily for two days due to the launch of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train," Majhi said.

Details of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Inaugural Run

The Malda Town–Kamakhya Vande Bharat Sleeper inaugural special will operate on Saturday, January 17. Designated as train number 02075, it will depart Malda Town at 13:15 hours. The train is scheduled to reach Kamakhya at 23:15 hours on the same day.

The journey includes halts at seven intermediate stations:

  • Aluabari Road
  • New Jalpaiguri
  • Jalpaiguri Road
  • New Coochbehar
  • New Alipurduar
  • New Bongaigaon
  • Rangiya

Senior Officials Inspect New Rake

Earlier on the launch day, Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board, Satish Kumar, inspected the new Vande Bharat Sleeper rake. He conducted the inspection at Malda Town Station alongside the General Manager of Eastern Railway.
