BJP Chief Nitin Nabin Sets 2027 Poll Agenda in Uttar Pradesh, Lauds Yogi's Transformation

In his maiden visit to Uttar Pradesh after assuming the role of BJP National President, Nitin Nabin on Sunday set the stage for the 2027 Assembly elections, urging party cadre to gear up and combat divisive forces. Addressing a gathering in Mathura alongside Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Nabin emphasized the need for preparedness as the electoral battle approaches.

Call to Action Against Divisive Forces

Nabin called upon BJP workers to be vigilant and ready to fight forces that aim to create divisions during elections. He stated, "2027 is coming near, and we have to fight those forces which believe in creating a divide." This message was delivered during an Abhinandan programme in Vrindavan, where he listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Mann ki Baat with party members.

Praise for Development Under Modi and Yogi

The BJP chief lauded the transformation of Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He highlighted that the state has moved from being labelled a "Bimaru" state to emerging as an "Uttam Pradesh", crediting the NDA government at the Centre and the BJP government in the state for this progress.

  • Improved law and order situation, replacing an atmosphere of fear with effective governance.
  • Development of expressways as symbols of progress, matching international infrastructure standards.
  • Restoration of cultural heritage sites from Kashi to Ayodhya and Vindhyachal to Mathura.

Critique of Political Opponents

Nabin took a swipe at political opponents, urging workers to teach a lesson to those who regard politics as a part-time profession. He recalled past governance issues, stating, "We have not forgotten how the government in UP used to run on gunpoint. Today it is being run through a public mandate."

Focus on Booth-Level Strengthening

Emphasizing organizational work, Nabin called upon BJP karyakartas to strengthen the party at the booth level. He encouraged continuous engagement with programmes like Mann Ki Baat to reinforce the party's connection with the people and dedicate themselves to public service.

Nabin's visit, which included offering prayers at Banke Bihari Temple, marks a strategic move to rally support ahead of the 2027 polls, focusing on development achievements and a call to unity against divisive elements.
