President Murmu Highlights Ram Rajya as Blueprint for India's Development
President Droupadi Murmu, speaking at the Ram temple in Ayodhya on Thursday, declared that the ideal of Ram Rajya embodies the highest standards of economic prosperity and social harmony. She emphasized that by following these ideals, India can build a nation founded upon morality and righteous conduct.
Navratri Address and Spiritual Significance
Murmu delivered her remarks after offering prayers at the temple on the first day of Chaitra Navratri. Opening her address with 'Jai Shri Ram,' she stated that the path of devout followers and devotion is the same, and bowing before Lord Ram is akin to paying homage to Mother India.
Extending Navratri greetings to citizens, the President asserted that India is progressing towards becoming an inclusive society and a developed nation. She expressed confidence that these goals will be achieved with the blessings of Lord Ram by 2047, or perhaps even sooner.
Ayodhya's Transformation and Cultural Resurgence
Murmu described it as a privilege to touch the sacred dust of Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, on this blessed occasion. She noted that Ayodhya has become one of the most popular religious destinations globally, with crores of devotees visiting the Ram temple from across India and abroad.
The President highlighted key moments in the temple's history, including the bhoomi pujan, consecration ceremony, opening of Ram Darbar, and hoisting of the flag atop the spire, calling them golden moments for the country.
Referring to Ayodhya as 'dearer than heaven' to Lord Ram, Murmu emphasized its significance to all devotees. She stated that the temple complex, linked to Sanatan consciousness, symbolizes India's cultural resurgence across economic, social, political, and cultural dimensions.
Installation of Shri Ram Yantra
In a significant ceremony, President Murmu installed a 150-kg gold-plated Shri Ram Yantra at the temple. Designed on ancient yantram models from Tamil Nadu temples, the yantra was gifted to the Ram temple two years ago.
The pontiff of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, Vijayendra Saraswati, flagged off the Rath Yatra that transported it from Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu to Ayodhya. Embossed with mantras, the square yantra is believed to be a source of positive energy and, based on Vedic astrology, is expected to bring prosperity to the temple town.
National Progress and Unity Call
Murmu affirmed that the nation is progressing in the right direction, with leadership striving for inclusivity and economic justice. She urged citizens to come together and remain united in this endeavor.
Arrangements and Dignitaries
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust made elaborate arrangements for the Ram Yantra sthapana puja. Earlier in the day, Murmu was received at the airport by Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and deputy CMs Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya.
Folk artists and performers organized cultural shows at 20 different locations. The President was accompanied by her family members and spiritual gurus Mata Amritanandamayi and Govind Dev Giri Maharaj.
