The Madhya Pradesh High Court has vacated the interim stay on the main examination of the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) State Service Examination (SSE) 2025. The decision was announced on June 19, 2026, providing clarity for thousands of aspirants awaiting the exam.
Petitions Challenged Non-Disclosure of Cut-Off Marks
The petitions had challenged, among other issues, the constitutional validity of rules relating to the non-disclosure of category-wise cut-off marks in the preliminary examination results of the SSE-2025. The petitioners argued that the lack of transparency violated their rights under the Constitution.
High Court's Ruling
A division bench of the High Court, after hearing arguments from both sides, vacated the interim stay that had been imposed earlier. The court noted that the examination process should not be unduly delayed and that the petitioners' concerns could be addressed at a later stage. The main examination will now proceed as per the schedule announced by the MPPSC.
The MPPSC had earlier released the preliminary results without disclosing the category-wise cut-off marks, leading to multiple petitions. The High Court had initially stayed the main exam pending a detailed hearing. However, with the latest order, the stay has been lifted, allowing the commission to conduct the main examination.
Legal experts suggest that the issue of cut-off marks disclosure may still be adjudicated separately, but the examination process will not be halted in the meantime. Aspirants have welcomed the decision, as it ends uncertainty over the examination timeline.
