In the 129th episode of his monthly radio broadcast, Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday reflected on a year of monumental achievements for the nation, stating that 2025 provided countless moments of pride for every Indian.

A Year of National Pride and Security

Prime Minister Modi began by underscoring India's strengthened global standing. He emphasized that from national security to international stages, the country made its mark unequivocally. He specifically hailed 'Operation Sindoor' as a symbol of immense national pride, sending a clear global message that today's India will not compromise on its security. The PM noted that images of devotion to the motherland from across the world emerged during this operation.

This patriotic sentiment, he added, was further echoed in the celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of 'Vande Mataram'.

Historic Wins on the Sports Field

The year 2025 proved to be a landmark period for Indian sports. PM Modi proudly listed the major victories:

  • The Men's Cricket Team clinched the ICC Champions Trophy.
  • The Women's Cricket Team secured its maiden World Cup title.
  • The Women's Blind Cricket Team created history by winning the T20 World Cup.

He also applauded para-athletes for their stellar performance in world championships, proving that determination can overcome any obstacle.

Giant Leaps in Science and Cultural Resurgence

India's progress was not confined to the sporting arena. The Prime Minister highlighted significant advancements in science and space exploration, noting that Shubhanshu Shukla became the first Indian to reach the International Space Station.

On the environmental front, several conservation initiatives bore fruit, with the cheetah population in India now exceeding 30. The year was also marked by grand cultural and spiritual gatherings. The Prayagraj Mahakumbh at the year's start astonished the world, while the flag hoisting ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya at year's end filled every citizen with pride.

PM Modi noted a growing public enthusiasm for indigenous products, strengthening the nation's self-reliance and confidence.

Engaging Youth and Global Indians

Addressing the youth, the Prime Minister announced the 'Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue', scheduled for National Youth Day on January 12 coinciding with Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary. He expressed his eagerness to participate and listen to the ideas of young minds.

He also praised the efforts of the Indian diaspora to stay connected with their roots, citing the example of the 'Kannada Pathashaale' in Dubai, where over a thousand children are learning the Kannada language.
