Mamata Banerjee Vows to Bounce Back After BJP Looted Over 100 Seats in West Bengal
Mamata Vows Comeback After BJP Wins Over 100 Seats

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, after her party Trinamool Congress (TMC) suffered a massive defeat in the 2024 assembly elections, has vowed to bounce back in the 2026 elections. She accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of 'looting' more than 100 seats in the state.

Mamata's Reaction to Defeat

Speaking to party workers, Banerjee said, 'The BJP has looted more than 100 seats. But we will not give up. We will fight back and win in 2026.' She expressed confidence that the people of West Bengal would realize the true nature of the BJP and return to TMC.

Allegations Against BJP

Banerjee alleged that the BJP used unfair means, including money power and central agencies, to influence voters. 'They have no moral right to rule. They have stolen the mandate,' she said. She also criticized the Election Commission for not taking action against the BJP's alleged malpractices.

Future Strategy

The TMC chief announced a series of public meetings and rallies to connect with the people. 'We will go to every village and every household to expose the BJP's lies,' she said. She also called for unity among opposition parties to take on the BJP at the national level.

Support from Party Workers

Despite the defeat, TMC workers remained upbeat. Many gathered at Banerjee's residence to show support. Senior party leader Abhishek Banerjee said, 'This is a temporary setback. Mamata di will lead us to victory again.'

The 2024 election results showed the BJP winning 103 seats, while TMC got 78. This marks a significant shift in West Bengal's political landscape, which had been dominated by TMC for over a decade. However, Mamata Banerjee remains determined to reclaim her stronghold.
