Details of the Theft

Superintendent of Police, Ravindra Verma, informed mediapersons that the theft occurred when Tahir, an accountant with Sakshi Sales firm owned by Dinesh Jaiswal, withdrew Rs 27 lakh from a bank. After paying Rs 2.70 lakh to a trader, he kept the remaining cash in his car. While stopping near a tea stall, he left the vehicle unlocked for a few minutes. When he returned, he found the bag containing Rs 23.30 lakh stolen.

Investigation and Recovery

The police registered a case and formed a special investigation team involving multiple police station units, the CCTV control room, and the cyber cell. Over five days, the team scanned more than 250 CCTV footage clips across Khargone, Dhar, Indore, Dewas, Shajapur, and Rajgarh districts to trace the suspects. The footage revealed that two persons on a motorcycle had been following the complainant from the bank before executing the theft.
