Aam Aadmi Party national convenor and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal shifted into the type-VII government bungalow in Lodhi Estate on Friday. The bungalow was allotted to him on account of his position as the head of a national party.
Allotment Details
In a post on X, Kejriwal stated that the Centre had recently allotted him the bungalow following court directions, considering his role as the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The allotment was made in October, and civil work had been underway in the house over the past few weeks.
After losing the Delhi assembly polls, Kejriwal was residing in the bungalow allotted to MP Ashok Mittal, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday. The party had earlier said that the allotment came after the Delhi High Court pulled up the Centre on the issue.
Previous Residence
Kejriwal had been living at 6, Flag Staff Road in Civil Lines during his tenure as the chief minister of Delhi. The new accommodation marks a change in his living arrangements following his electoral defeat.
The type-VII bungalow is a high-end government residence in the upscale Lodhi Estate area, typically allotted to senior politicians and officials. Kejriwal's move comes amid ongoing political developments in the capital.
