The INDIA bloc, a coalition of 25 opposition parties, concluded its meeting in New Delhi on Saturday with a unified five-point agenda, announced Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. The alliance has called on the central government to convene an all-party meeting to address critical issues including the economy, unemployment, inflation, and farmers' concerns.
Key Demands of the INDIA Bloc
The opposition coalition has outlined several pressing demands. It is seeking a comprehensive discussion on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise and allegations of electoral irregularities. To this end, the bloc will write to the Chief Justice of India seeking intervention. Additionally, the alliance has unanimously demanded the resignation of the Education Minister, citing serious concerns over the handling of NEET and CBSE examinations.
Strengthening Coordination
Kharge announced that INDIA bloc parties will meet every two months to ensure sustained coordination. During the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament, the coalition plans to hold daily strategy meetings to present a united front on key legislative matters.
The five-point agenda reflects the bloc's focus on pressing national issues, aiming to hold the government accountable on economic mismanagement, educational reforms, and farmer welfare. The opposition's move signals a concerted effort to challenge the ruling party on multiple fronts as the country heads into the next parliamentary session.
