Haryana Congress Finally Reorganizes District Committees After 11-Year Delay

The Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) has taken a major step forward. On Saturday, the party released the reconstituted list of district Congress committees (DCCs). This move ends a prolonged stalemate that lasted for more than eleven years.

Leadership Acknowledges High Command Support

Haryana Congress president Rao Narender Singh expressed his gratitude. He thanked the party high command for approving the DCC office-bearers' list. Singh specifically praised the efforts of AICC in-charge for Haryana, B K Hariparsad, and co-in-charge Jitender Baghel. Their involvement proved crucial in breaking the deadlock.

A Long-Standing Internal Struggle

The list had been pending since 2013. Several HPCC presidents, including Ashok Tanwar, Kumari Selja, and Udai Bhan, attempted to finalize it. Working presidents over the years also faced challenges. The primary obstacle was the persistent tussle between former Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda and his political rivals within the party.

Composition and Current Training Initiatives

An exact analysis of the new DCC compositions is still underway. Initial observations suggest that, unlike other party wings, women leaders and OBC representatives may not have received significant representation in these lists.

Rao Narender Singh made these announcements during the party's ongoing 'Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan' in Kurukshetra. He confirmed that appointments for district presidents had already been completed, following directives from the Congress high command.

Currently, a ten-day training camp is in progress in Kurukshetra. This camp involves district presidents and office-bearers from both Haryana and Uttarakhand. It is scheduled to conclude on January 22.

Progress and Future Plans

Rao Narender Singh provided specific details about the reorganization. Haryana has a total of 33 district Congress committees. The party has successfully completed new appointments for expanding the district executive committees in 20 of these DCCs. Work on the remaining 13 committees is progressing rapidly and will be announced soon.

The HPCC chief emphasized that the 'Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan' is driving organizational expansion with full enthusiasm and dedication. He stated the campaign's main objectives are to strengthen democracy, protect the Constitution, and fight effectively for its proper implementation.

Rao Narender Singh concluded with a note of optimism. He expressed confidence that the Congress party will bring a positive change to the state's political landscape.
