A fire broke out in shops on the ground floor of a four-storey building in Kanpur's Maniram Bagiya area, under the Pheelkhana police station jurisdiction, on Friday, causing panic among local residents. Fortunately, the fire department successfully evacuated all individuals trapped inside the building, and no casualties were reported.

According to reports, the control room received information about the incident and immediately dispatched five fire tenders from the Latouche Road, Colonelganj, and Fazalganj fire stations to the scene. Upon arrival, fire personnel observed that the ground-floor shops of the four-storey building, situated in a narrow lane, were completely engulfed in flames. A significant number of people were trapped on the upper floors of the structure.

Under the supervision of Chief Fire Officer Deepak Sharma, the firefighting team initiated a rescue operation for the trapped individuals. The team accessed an adjacent building via the rooftop and safely brought down all those who were stranded. Following the rescue, water pipes were extended from a considerable distance to surround the fire from all sides, and the blaze was brought under complete control.
