In a significant move towards women empowerment, Member of Parliament (MP) Sandhu has announced the development of Dera Bassi and Lalru as women empowerment hubs. The initiative includes the establishment of a new skill training centre aimed at providing vocational training to women in the region.
Skill Training Centre to Boost Employment
The new skill training centre will offer courses in various trades such as tailoring, beauty and wellness, computer applications, and entrepreneurship. The goal is to equip women with marketable skills that can lead to employment or self-employment opportunities. MP Sandhu emphasized that the centre would focus on practical training and certification to ensure women are job-ready.
Empowerment Through Education and Skills
Speaking at the announcement event, Sandhu said, "Empowering women is not just about providing education but also about giving them the skills to become financially independent. This centre will be a hub for women to learn, grow, and contribute to the local economy." The initiative is part of a broader strategy to promote gender equality and economic development in the region.
Support for Women Entrepreneurs
In addition to skill training, the centre will provide support for women entrepreneurs through mentorship, access to microfinance, and market linkages. The MP urged local women to take advantage of these opportunities and become role models for others in the community.
The development of Dera Bassi and Lalru as women empowerment hubs is expected to have a transformative impact on the lives of thousands of women, enabling them to achieve financial autonomy and social recognition. The skill training centre is set to begin operations in the coming months.
