Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka celebrated his 65th birthday on Monday with students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Moinabad, Ranga Reddy district. The celebrations later continued at Praja Bhavan in Green Lands, Hyderabad.
Interaction with Students
Bhatti, accompanied by BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, shared lunch with the students. He interacted with them and sought feedback on the quality of food being served. Addressing the gathering, Bhatti emphasized the importance of students as future human resources and the state's wealth.
He stated, “Today’s students are tomorrow’s human resources and the wealth of the state. The government will spend whatever is necessary for their education and health. Only when students receive nutritious food can they grow physically and mentally and compete successfully in today’s world.”
Criticism of Previous Government
Bhatti criticized the previous BRS government for failing to increase diet charges. He highlighted that the Congress government raised diet charges by 40% and cosmetic charges by 200%. He assured that if estimates for additional classrooms at the Moinabad Kasturba Gandhi Residential School are submitted, he would discuss the matter with the Chief Minister and ensure funds are sanctioned.
Role of KGBVs
Bhatti noted that Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas were introduced by earlier Congress governments to support girls from economically weaker backgrounds. These schools have significantly reduced dropout rates among girls and are producing excellent results.
Birthday Celebrations at Praja Bhavan
The Deputy CM also celebrated his birthday at Praja Bhavan, where ministers, party leaders, and cadres extended their wishes. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla conveyed his greetings over the phone. In a message on X, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy wished him a long and healthy life and called for continued joint efforts to improve public service delivery in Telangana. Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also extended birthday greetings.
Birthday greetings poured in from various quarters, with ministers including N Uttam Kumar Reddy, D Sridhar Babu, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Ponnam Prabhakar, and D Anasuya Seethakka among others who wished him in person.
