Delhi Government Announces Financial Aid for Blast Victims

In a compassionate response to Monday's devastating explosion near the Red Fort, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday declared substantial financial compensation for the victims and their families. The tragic incident claimed 12 lives and left multiple individuals injured when a high-intensity explosion ripped through a slow-moving car at a traffic signal near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro station.

Compensation Package Details

The Delhi government has approved an ex gratia payment of ₹10 lakh for the families of each deceased victim. For those who suffered permanent disability in the blast, the compensation has been set at ₹5 lakh, while individuals with serious injuries will receive ₹2 lakh as immediate relief.

Expressing her condolences through a post on X (formerly Twitter), CM Rekha Gupta stated in Hindi, "The unfortunate incident in Delhi has left the entire city in shock. In this difficult time, the Delhi government extends its deepest condolences to all the families who have lost their loved ones and to those injured in the incident."

Government Assurance and Security Measures

The Chief Minister emphasized that the government will ensure proper and quality medical treatment for all injured individuals. She reaffirmed the administration's commitment to maintaining peace and security in the national capital, stating that officials are working with full vigilance to support affected families.

"The Delhi government stands firmly with every affected family and has taken a compassionate decision for immediate relief," Gupta added in her social media post. The compensation announcement comes as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the Monday evening blast that has shaken the city.
