CPI(ML) Honors Martyrs' Legacy with Anti-War March in Ara
On Monday, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) commemorated the 95th anniversary of the martyrdom of legendary freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru with heartfelt tributes in Ara, Bihar. The event, held at Karman Tola, saw floral offerings at the statue of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, marking a solemn remembrance of the revolutionaries' sacrifice for India's independence.
Commemoration and Ideals of Justice
Chandan Kumar, a CPI(ML) leader and party office bearer, confirmed that a commemorative event was organized to honor the martyrs. Speaking on the occasion, CPI(ML) state secretary Kunal emphasized that the ideals of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru continue to inspire ongoing struggles for justice, equality, and democracy across the nation. "Their legacy fuels our commitment to fight against oppression and for a more equitable society," he stated, highlighting the relevance of their principles in contemporary socio-political contexts.
Massive Anti-War March Against Imperialism
In a significant parallel action, the CPI(ML) led a massive anti-war and anti-imperialism march through Ara on the same day. The procession commenced from Karman Tola, traversed through Mahavir Tola and the women's college, and concluded at the Nagri Pracharni auditorium. This demonstration aimed to voice opposition to global conflicts, particularly referencing the escalating tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran.
Ara MP Sudama Prasad addressed the gathering, warning that such conflicts extend beyond national borders and pose severe threats to global peace, economic stability, and humanity. "The race to control oil and strategic resources is dangerously intensifying the risk of war, endangering lives worldwide," he asserted, connecting local activism to international concerns.
Global Context and Calls for Unity
The march and speeches were contextualized against recent developments in the US-Iran-Israel conflict, including Iran's vow for a tit-for-tat strike after a 48-hour ultimatum from former US President Donald Trump, and the US pausing planned strikes for five days amid productive talks. The CPI(ML) appealed to all democratic, progressive, and peace-loving forces across India to join the campaign, raising a united voice against war and imperialist intervention.
"This is not just about one region; it's a call to safeguard humanity from the ravages of conflict driven by resource greed," emphasized party leaders, urging broader participation in peace initiatives.
