Congress Leader Accuses BJP of Attempting to Enslave Tamil Nadu Population

In a fiery campaign speech in Coimbatore, All India Congress Committee general secretary (organization) K C Venugopal launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party and the National Democratic Alliance. Venugopal, who was campaigning for Singanallur Congress candidate V Srinithi, made explosive allegations that the BJP and NDA are actively working to make the people of Tamil Nadu their slaves.

Allegations of Remote Control Governance and Destabilization

Venugopal specifically targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing them of systematic efforts to destabilize the Tamil Nadu government. "Modi and Shah want a remote control government in Tamil Nadu," Venugopal declared during his address. "They have been disturbing the state government consistently for the past five years in their deliberate bid to destabilize the administration."

The Congress leader further alleged that under the guise of women's reservation policies, the BJP attempted to reduce Tamil Nadu's representation in parliament. He accused Prime Minister Modi of deliberately dividing the people of India and showing hostility toward Tamil language and culture.

Comparison to National Opposition Leaders

Drawing parallels between national and state-level opposition to the BJP, Venugopal stated, "Just like Rahul Gandhi, who is constantly fighting against BJP at the Centre, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin is also engaged in daily battles against BJP interference." He claimed the BJP had been using the governor's office to weaken the state government for five consecutive years.

Congress Candidate Addresses Intra-Party Conflict Rumors

Earlier in the day, Congress candidate V Srinithi addressed media concerns about alleged intra-party conflicts within the Congress party. "The opposition is spreading false information about internal conflicts within Congress out of sheer fear of defeat," Srinithi asserted.

She explained the collaborative nature of campaign efforts, noting, "It is not necessary that only Congress leaders should campaign for me. Many DMK leaders have actively campaigned on my behalf. Similarly, Congress leaders have campaigned for DMK candidates in other constituencies."

According to Srinithi, campaign schedules for senior leaders are meticulously planned by a dedicated committee and do not reflect any internal discord. She specifically mentioned her communication with senior leader P Chidambaram, who visited Coimbatore recently. "When senior leader Chidambaram came to Coimbatore, I did reach out to him over phone. He served as one of the jury members during candidate scrutiny. His support has been unwavering for me from the very beginning," she clarified.

Political Context and Campaign Dynamics

The allegations come during intense campaigning for the Singanallur constituency, where Congress is fighting to maintain its political presence. The accusations of BJP attempting to establish remote control governance in Tamil Nadu reflect broader tensions between the central government and opposition-ruled states.

Venugopal's strong language about "enslaving" the Tamil Nadu population represents an escalation in political rhetoric, while Srinithi's comments about cross-party campaigning highlight the alliance dynamics between Congress and DMK in Tamil Nadu politics.

The Congress leadership continues to frame the election as a battle against central interference in state affairs, positioning themselves as defenders of Tamil Nadu's autonomy and cultural identity against what they describe as BJP's divisive policies.
