Congress Rolls Out Ambitious 100-Day Strategy for Uttar Pradesh

The Congress party in Uttar Pradesh has launched a comprehensive 100-day action plan. This strategy comes ahead of the crucial Assembly elections scheduled for early next year. The party aims to connect with voters through multiple initiatives across the state.

Mahapanchayats to Highlight Constitutional Values

Congress plans to organize thirty 'Samvidhan samvad mahapanchayats' starting January 24 from Sitapur district. These large gatherings will focus on constitutional dialogue. Party leaders will address public meetings in key locations including Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Saharanpur.

Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra announced the plan in Lucknow. She stated the mahapanchayats will expose the failures of the Yogi Adityanath government. The party released the action plan simultaneously in twenty different locations through senior leaders.

Save MGNREGA Campaign Takes Center Stage

A major component involves the 'Save MGNREGA' campaign. Mishra emphasized that the Congress-led UPA government implemented this historic scheme in 2006. She claimed it guaranteed employment rights for rural poor.

The party pledges to launch a mass movement demanding restoration of the scheme. Congress commits to securing a minimum wage of Rs 400 for MGNREGA workers. They assert their dedication to labor rights and Gram Sabha authority.

Photo Exhibitions and Seminars Across Divisions

Congress will organize photo exhibitions and seminars highlighting its 140-year history. These events will showcase important party sessions over the decades. Programs will run in all divisional headquarters and major cities possibly until December 28.

Districts scheduled for these exhibitions include Agra, Aligarh, Moradabad, Bareilly, Meerut, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Mirzapur, Allahabad, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Jhansi, Basti, Ayodhya, Ghaziabad, and Muzaffarnagar.

Electoral Preparations and Voter List Revision

The action plan includes preparations for upcoming elections. Congress will contest panchayat polls independently. The party also plans to compete strongly for eleven Legislative Council seats falling vacant in November.

A monitoring committee comprising MPs, MLAs, and former legislators will oversee Special Intensive Revision work. This committee will help include legitimate voters whose names were deleted or omitted from electoral rolls using Form-6.

Mishra highlighted that Congress appointed nearly 100,000 booth level agents during the SIR exercise. She described this as proof of the party's grassroots strength and democratic commitment.

The 100-day action plan represents a multi-pronged approach combining public outreach, protest movements, historical celebration, and electoral groundwork. Congress aims to position itself strongly before the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections through these coordinated efforts.
