Chief of Defence Staff Reviews Operational Posture of Chinar Corps in Jammu and Kashmir

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan conducted a significant visit to the strategically vital Chinar Corps in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on Saturday. During his inspection, the CDS meticulously assessed the security landscape and operational readiness along the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir. He lauded the formation for its exceptional operational preparedness, doctrinal coherence, and unwavering professionalism in safeguarding the region.

Emphasis on Multi-Domain Operations and Jointness

At Baramulla, General Chauhan received detailed briefings on Future Force Application and Technology Infusion. In an address to the officers of the Chinar Corps, he articulated that the nature of warfare is undergoing a profound transformation. This shift necessitates moving from a domain-centric approach to embracing Multi-Domain Operations (MDO), which must be supported by a robust and integrated architectural framework.

The CDS underscored the critical importance of jointness, emphasizing that seamless integration across Land, Air, Maritime, Cyber, Space, and Cognitive domains is indispensable for achieving decisive military outcomes. He called for accelerated joint training tailored for futuristic warfare, harmonization of doctrines, and the development of interoperable command and control structures to enable synchronized effects across all operational domains.

Roadmap for Future Challenges and National Preparedness

General Chauhan highlighted the need for a deliberate and strategic roadmap to counter emerging threats. He reiterated that preparation for envisaged threats must be anchored in foresight, innovation, a unified warfighting philosophy, and a whole-of-nation effort.

He exhorted all ranks to uphold operational excellence, embrace jointness as a fundamental aspect of military life, and remain prepared to dominate the full spectrum of future conflicts.

During his visit, General Chauhan also interacted with representatives of the civil administration, eminent personalities, and functionaries in Baramulla.
