BJP Condemns Assam Congress for Controversial AI-Generated Bihu Post
The Bharatiya Janata Party launched a sharp attack on the Assam Congress unit this Wednesday. The criticism followed a now-deleted social media post from Congress that featured an artificial intelligence-generated image. This image showed the state BJP headquarters engulfed in flames.
BJP Shares Screenshot and Issues Warning
The BJP Assam unit quickly responded by sharing a screenshot of the controversial post. They issued a clear warning to the Congress party. Deleting the post would not erase its intended meaning, the BJP stated firmly. "Deleting the post doesn't nullify what you are trying to imply @INCAssam. You're EXPOSED," the BJP's social media message declared.
According to the screenshot shared by the BJP, the original Congress post contained a specific message. It showed the Assam BJP HQ burning and included text about lighting the Meji fire. The text read, "As we light the Meji fire, let it consume the evils that plague our land—those divisive forces masquerading as guardians, sowing discord in the name of unity."
The full post from Assam Congress wished everyone a joyous Bhogali Bihu. It continued with the same message about the Meji fire consuming evils and divisive forces. The post concluded by hoping for renewal, harmony, and a brighter Assam in 2026. This post has since been removed from social media platforms.
BJP Accuses Congress of Cultural Vandalism
The BJP did not hold back in its condemnation. The party labeled the Congress action as "cultural vandalism" in its most ugly form. They accused Assam Congress of grotesquely distorting Assamese culture with shameless audacity.
A strongly worded statement from the BJP posed a direct question. "How dare you defile and grotesquely distort Assamese culture with such shameless audacity," it demanded. The statement explained the cultural significance of the Bhela Ghar during Bhogali Bihu. This structure is a sacred, symbolic element rooted in centuries-old tradition, not a real home.
By deliberately twisting this ritual, Congress was not making a simple mistake, the BJP argued. They were committing a vile act of cultural sabotage. This action insults every Assamese person and spits on their heritage, the BJP asserted.
BJP Calls Post Dangerous and Irresponsible
The BJP further elaborated on the dangers of such content. They called the Congress post dangerous, malicious, and deeply irresponsible. The party accused Congress of manufacturing a false narrative. This narrative appears to glorify the burning of real homes where people actually live.
