BJP Observes Somnath Swabhiman Parv in Delhi

Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gathered at a prominent Shiva temple in the heart of the national capital on Saturday to mark the commencement of the Somnath Swabhiman Parv. The event saw participation from top party functionaries who performed special rituals to honor India's cultural resilience.

Senior BJP Leadership Participates in Rituals

Nitin Nabin, the BJP's national working president, visited the Shiv Temple located in Connaught Place. He performed the ritual of dugdhabhishek (milk abhishek) as part of the observances. He was joined by Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj, and BJP national office minister Mahendra Pandey, who also offered their prayers at the sacred site.

Celebrating a Millennium of Resilience

Addressing the assembled devotees and workers, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva elaborated on the significance of the day. He stated that the Somnath Swabhiman Parv was being observed across the nation. Sachdeva revealed that in Delhi alone, nearly one lakh BJP workers participated by performing jalabhishek and offering prayers at various temples throughout the city.

He reflected on the historical context, referring to the repeated attacks on the original Somnath Temple by foreign invaders. Sachdeva emphasized that the 1,000-year journey since 1026 stands as a powerful symbol of India's enduring cultural heritage and traditions. He described the temple as a site where "even the ocean washes the feet of Lord Shiva," noting that it was re-established time and again despite repeated destruction, continuing to hold deep faith and significance for society.

A Year-Long Observance Announced

In a significant announcement, Virendra Sachdeva declared that the entire coming year would be observed as Somnath Swabhiman Parv. This extended celebration aims to commemorate and celebrate India's unbroken religious and cultural strength. The move is seen as an effort to highlight the perseverance of Indian civilization and its spiritual landmarks through centuries of challenges.

The event in Connaught Place served as a focal point for the party's tribute to this legacy, blending religious observance with a message of cultural pride and historical continuity.
