BJP Deploys Legal Army in Vadodara to Rush 304 Nomination Sets
In Vadodara, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prepared an extensive team of advocates and support staff at its office starting Friday morning. This mobilization aimed to complete nomination formalities within a strict deadline, following delays in the announcement of party tickets. The BJP's legal cell, responsible for preparing nomination papers for its candidates, coordinated this effort by enlisting lawyers who camped at the office to fill out forms and draft affidavits and other essential documents.
Massive Team on Standby for Nomination Preparation
A key member of the legal cell, advocate Nehal Sutariya, revealed that a team of more than 50 individuals was on standby to ensure timely preparation of nomination papers with all required documentation. He detailed that the team comprised lawyers, 10 notaries, two stamp vendors, and 10 typists. Sutariya emphasized that formats for affidavits and similar documents were pre-prepared, stating, "We are well-acquainted with the process, and it does not take a lot of time."
Daunting Task of Preparing 304 Nomination Sets
Despite their efficiency, the task remained formidable as the team needed to prepare 304 sets of nominations. This total included two sets for each candidate and two sets for each dummy candidate, highlighting the scale of the operation. The BJP's proactive approach in Vadodara underscores the party's commitment to meeting electoral deadlines, even under pressure from last-minute ticket declarations.
The legal cell's role is crucial in ensuring that all paperwork is accurate and compliant with election regulations, minimizing risks of disqualification. This incident sheds light on the behind-the-scenes efforts political parties undertake during election seasons, where legal expertise becomes as vital as campaign strategies.
