During a press conference on Thursday, BJP MP Sambit Patra revealed startling information about Congress-affiliated accounts on platform X. Referring to the new location feature recently introduced by the social media platform, Patra demonstrated how several accounts connected to the Congress party displayed overseas locations instead of Indian ones.
The BJP spokesperson specifically identified accounts showing locations in the United States, Ireland, Thailand, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. This discovery has raised serious questions about the authenticity and origins of political narratives being pushed against the Indian government.
Specific Accounts and Influencers Named
Patra didn't make general allegations but provided specific examples to support his claims. He pointed to Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera's account and the official Maharashtra Congress handle as among those showing foreign locations.
The BJP leader also named several influential accounts that he claimed were part of this network, including Prateek Sinha, Alt News, and Caravan India. These accounts have been particularly active in criticizing government policies and shaping political conversations on various social media platforms.
