BJP Delegation Alleges AAP Leader's Misconduct in Chandigarh
A delegation from the Bharatiya Janata Party met with UT Chief Secretary H Prasad on Monday. The group submitted a formal memorandum raising serious allegations. They accused AAP leader Sunny Ahluwalia of misusing government machinery and police power.
Political Vendetta Claims Surface
Jatinder Pal Malhotra led the BJP delegation as Chandigarh unit president. He presented the memorandum directly to Chief Secretary Prasad. The document detailed what the BJP calls clear political vendetta tactics.
Malhotra specifically alleged that Sunny Ahluwalia abused his position. He claimed the AAP leader used his influence improperly. The result was a false FIR registered against Komal Sharma.
Komal Sharma happens to be sister-in-law of BJP councillor Suman Sharma. Suman Sharma represents Ward No. 4 in Chandigarh. The BJP insists the FIR lacks any legitimate legal foundation.
Delegation Composition and Details
The delegation included several prominent BJP figures from Chandigarh. State general secretaries Rambir Bhatti and Sanjeev Rana participated actively. Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla joined the meeting as well.
Multiple councillors attended including Suman Sharma herself. Saurabh Joshi, Naresh Panchal, and Mahesh Inder Sidhu were present too. Party leader Avi Bhasin completed the delegation roster.
Specific Allegations Against Police Action
Malhotra explained the FIR registration process during the meeting. He stated Punjab Police filed the case without proper coordination. Chandigarh Police should have been involved according to established procedures.
"The timing, manner and intent of this incident clearly indicate political vendetta," Malhotra told the Chief Secretary. He emphasized the violation of standard legal protocols.
The BJP president further elaborated on the alleged motivations. He claimed the FIR aims to intimidate and harass the councillor's family. Political pressure appears to be the ultimate goal according to the BJP.
Broader Pattern of Threats Alleged
Malhotra revealed additional concerning information during the meeting. He stated BJP councillors have faced continuous threats recently. These threats have persisted for several days according to party claims.
The BJP memorandum highlights what they call police high-handedness. They accuse the AAP leader of orchestrating this entire episode. The party demands proper investigation into these serious allegations.
This incident adds to growing political tensions in Chandigarh. Both parties continue to exchange accusations regularly. The Chief Secretary's office has yet to issue any official response.
