PATNA: Bihar BJP chief Sanjay Saraogi stated on Tuesday that the cabinet expansion of the Samrat Choudhary-led government in the state will occur on Thursday, with senior national leaders of the party, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in attendance.
Saraogi confirmed that besides Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president Nitin Nabin, and other senior leaders will also be present at the event.
BJP leader Samrat Choudhary was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar on April 15, becoming the first from the saffron party to hold the post. His appointment followed Nitish Kumar's resignation and subsequent election to the Rajya Sabha.
Along with Choudhary, JD(U) leaders Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav also took oath as members of the Council of Ministers.
Saraogi told PTI, "The cabinet expansion in Bihar will take place on Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with BJP national president Nitin Nabin and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, will be present on the occasion." Since Prime Minister Modi will be visiting Bihar for the first time after the BJP's massive victory in West Bengal, elaborate preparations are underway for his reception, he added.
Saraogi further mentioned that the cabinet expansion event will also be attended by former Chief Minister and JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar, LJP (RV) chief Chirag Paswan, HAM president Jitan Ram Manjhi, and other leaders of the NDA alliance.
This development marks a significant moment for the newly formed government, as it seeks to solidify its administration and allocate portfolios among coalition partners. The presence of top national leaders underscores the importance of Bihar in the BJP's political strategy.
