Assam Government Adviser Survives Two Accidents in Gujarat

Retired IPS officer Keshav Kumar faced a harrowing experience on Tuesday. The adviser to the Assam government was involved in two consecutive accidents while traveling from Ahmedabad to Sanand for a function.

Minor Injuries Reported in Back-to-Back Incidents

Kumar managed to escape with minor injuries to his head, shoulder, neck and back. He shared details of the incidents through a social media post.

The retired officer credited constable Laljibhai of the 'M' Division Traffic Police for immediate assistance. The constable took Kumar to the nearest hospital for treatment on his motorcycle.

Police Confirm Details of the Accidents

A police officer provided specific details about what happened. "He was on his way to Sanand when there was an accident on the road and sir's vehicle suffered minor damage," the officer stated.

The officer continued, "However, they continued on their way. Then, on Shantipura bridge the bonnet of the car opened while the vehicle was moving and so the driver stopped the car near the divider."

The situation escalated when a tanker behind Kumar's vehicle could not stop in time. The tanker hit the car from behind, causing further damage.

Immediate Medical Response

The driver of Kumar's vehicle was sent to hospital in an ambulance. Kumar himself received prompt assistance from constable Laljibhai, who transported him to medical care.

Keshav Kumar superannuated in 2021 at the rank of DGP. He was posted as Director of the Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau before his retirement. He now serves as an adviser to the Assam government.

The incidents occurred on January 16, 2026, highlighting the importance of road safety measures even for experienced travelers.
