NEW DELHI: K Annamalai launched a "political movement" after quitting the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday, calling upon those passionate about "education, health, sustainability, or youth leadership" to join.
"Let's step up, take action, and be the change. Join here to begin our political movement!," the former Tamil Nadu BJP chief said in a post on X.
The website showed that over 50 grassroots leaders and more than 4.5 lakh volunteers joined the movement four hours after the launch.
The Conscious Constituency Approach
"At We The Leaders Foundation, we believe in a governance model that is rooted in conscious leadership, community engagement, and data-driven decision-making. The Conscious Constituency Approach is designed to bridge the gap between technological advancements and human-centric leadership, ensuring inclusive, sustainable, and impactful development in every constituency," the website said.
Resignation and Vision
Announcing his departure, the former IPS officer said he wanted to promote a "growth-oriented and culturally rooted" politics in Tamil Nadu and called for an end to "cult and dynastic" politics. In his resignation letter to BJP president Nitin Nabin, Annamalai said he did not want to burden the party leadership with his differing views on the state's political direction.
