Union Home Minister Amit Shah issued a stern warning to Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers in West Bengal, stating that they would face jail if they indulged in violence or corruption. Addressing a public rally in the state, Shah accused the TMC of fostering a culture of violence and corruption under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee.
Shah's Strong Message
Shah asserted that the days of TMC's misrule are numbered and that the people of West Bengal are ready for change. He emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre would ensure strict action against those involved in illegal activities. 'If any TMC worker raises a hand against anyone, they will be sent to jail. If any TMC worker indulges in corruption, they will be sent to jail,' Shah declared.
Allegations Against TMC
The Home Minister accused the TMC of turning West Bengal into a hub of violence and corruption. He claimed that under the TMC regime, the state has witnessed a rise in crimes against women, political violence, and financial scams. Shah also criticized the state government for its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and the implementation of central schemes.
BJP's Rise in Bengal
Shah expressed confidence that the BJP would form the next government in West Bengal, citing the party's growing popularity among the masses. He urged the people to vote for the BJP to bring about development and peace in the state. The rally was part of the BJP's campaign to strengthen its presence in West Bengal ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
Reactions from TMC
The TMC dismissed Shah's warnings as empty threats and accused the BJP of trying to destabilize the state. TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said that the people of West Bengal are aware of the BJP's divisive politics and will reject them in the elections. He added that the TMC would continue to work for the welfare of the people despite the BJP's attempts to malign the party.
Political analysts believe that Shah's aggressive stance is aimed at mobilizing BJP supporters and consolidating the anti-TMC vote. The elections in West Bengal are expected to be a high-stakes battle between the TMC and the BJP, with both parties leaving no stone unturned to secure victory.
