Amit Shah Declares Sanatan Dharma Immortal Like Sun and Moon
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah delivered a powerful speech in Gujarat on Tuesday. He stated that Sanatan Dharma, Indian culture, and the faith of Indians cannot be wiped out easily. Shah compared their permanence to the steady presence of the sun and the moon.
Speech at Mansa Public Meeting
Addressing a public gathering in his hometown of Mansa, located in Gujarat's Gandhinagar district, Shah spoke about the Somnath Swabhiman Parv. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently launched this event at the Somnath temple in Gir Somnath district. The Somnath Swabhiman Parv commemorates two significant milestones. It marks 1,000 years since Mahmud of Ghazni's first major invasion of the temple in 1026. It also celebrates 75 years since the temple's renovation.
Shah reflected on the temple's turbulent history. He said, "A thousand years ago, Mahmud of Ghazni demolished this magnificent Somnath temple. Afterwards, figures like Alauddin Khalji, Ahmed Shah, Mahmud Begada, and Aurangzeb repeatedly destroyed it. Yet, we kept rebuilding it each time. Those who demolished had confidence in destruction. Those who rebuilt had confidence in reconstruction."
Somnath Temple: A Symbol of Resilience
Shah emphasized the temple's enduring legacy. He noted, "Look at the situation after a thousand years. The invaders who demolished it have vanished. The Somnath temple still stands tall on the seashore. Sardar Patel, K M Munshi, Jam Saheb, and our first President Rajendra Prasad renovated this temple through their strong resolve."
He explained the deeper meaning behind the temple's reconstruction. Shah stated, "The attack on Somnath temple was not merely an attack on a structure. It was an assault on our confidence, our faith, and our self-respect. The response to such an attack cannot be another attack. The true reply lies in the firm protection of our self-respect. Today, even after being demolished sixteen times, the Somnath temple remains. Its saffron flag touches the sky."
Development of Grand Somnath Corridor
Shah also highlighted ongoing development work. He announced that a grand Somnath corridor is being developed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This project sends a strong message to the world. Shah asserted, "It demonstrates that erasing Sanatan Dharma, Indian culture, and the faith of the Indian people is not easy. They are as immortal and steady as the sun and the moon. The Somnath temple symbolizes India's confidence, faith, and pride."
Inauguration of Development Projects
During the function, Shah inaugurated several developmental projects. He also laid foundation stones for new initiatives. These included a sports complex valued at approximately 267 crore rupees. Mansa falls within the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, which Shah represents.
On this occasion, Shah discussed various development projects completed in the region over recent years. He outlined the progress made under current leadership, reinforcing the government's commitment to growth and infrastructure.
