Indian Army Agniveer Rally Set for Mysuru from April 19 to 27
In a significant recruitment drive, the Indian Army will host an Agniveer selection rally at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Nazarbad, Mysuru, from April 19 to 27. This event aims to screen a total of 6,235 candidates, as confirmed by Colonel Vivek Jamdar, the recruitment officer of the Indian Army.
Detailed Schedule and Candidate Breakdown
Colonel Jamdar, addressing officials at the youth services and sports department office, outlined the process. The rally follows a written exam conducted in June 2025 for Agniveer selection, with this second phase focusing on screening tests. Participants include 6,043 male and 192 female candidates, with the female rally scheduled specifically for April 27. Each day, approximately 800 candidates will undergo rigorous physical and other assessments.
Key phases of the rally:
- Candidates must first pass the physical test to qualify for the subsequent medical examination.
- Accommodation has been arranged at Nanjaraja Bahadur Chhatra for all participants.
- Only those who succeed in the physical test will proceed to the medical exam stage.
Comprehensive Support and Security Arrangements
To ensure a smooth and safe event, multiple departments are collaborating closely. The health department will provide ambulances, doctors, staff, and medicines on-site. Mysuru City Corporation is responsible for essential amenities such as drinking water, temporary toilets, and sanitation facilities. Security will be managed by the police department, while Nirmithi Kendra will supply necessary tents and CCTV systems for monitoring.
Educational Outreach and Student Involvement
In an effort to inspire future recruits, high school students, along with NCC and NSS participants, will be permitted to witness the rally. This initiative aims to offer insights into the army selection process and potentially spark interest in military careers. The school education department has been advised to facilitate student participation through official communications.
