Five Indian Air Force personnel were killed when an AN-32 aircraft crashed while attempting to land at the Jorhat air base in Assam on Saturday. The co-pilot of the aircraft is the only survivor, sustaining injuries and currently undergoing treatment at a military hospital in Jorhat, sources said.

The crash occurred during the landing approach at the Jorhat air base. The aircraft, a twin-engine turboprop transport plane, was on a routine mission. Emergency response teams rushed to the site immediately after the incident.
Survivor and Investigation
The sole survivor, the co-pilot, is reported to be in stable condition. A court of inquiry has been constituted to ascertain the cause of the accident. The Indian Air Force has not released further details pending the investigation.
