A tragic incident occurred in Rajkot on Sunday night when a 15-year-old girl from Jamnagar collapsed and died while visiting a resort with her family. Although initial reports suggest a heart attack, the exact cause of death remains unconfirmed and will be determined by the post-mortem examination.
Incident Details
According to police, the girl had come to Rajkot to visit her maternal uncle. On the night of June 7, she accompanied her family to a resort located on Jamnagar Road for dinner. Family members reported that she was playing with her cousins and other children at the resort when she suddenly lost consciousness. She was immediately rushed to the civil hospital, but the on-duty doctor declared her dead after examination.
Police Investigation
Following the incident, the Rajkot City Civil Police Post informed the Gandhigram police, which registered an accidental death case. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the sudden collapse.
Family Statement
The deceased's uncle, Gopal Katariya, spoke to the media and stated that the girl had no known history of heart-related illness. She had recently completed Class 9 and was preparing to enter Class 10. She was the youngest among three siblings, with one brother and one sister. Her father, Rajesh Modi, runs a studio business in Jamnagar.
The family is in shock and awaiting the post-mortem results to understand the cause of this untimely death. The community has expressed condolences and support for the bereaved family.
