Youth Brutally Beaten to Death at Hamirpur Party, Father Points Finger at Neighbours
A tragic incident unfolded in Hamirpur late on Wednesday evening. A 22-year-old youth lost his life after a brutal assault. Police confirmed the death, noting serious injury marks on his head and body.
Party Turns Deadly in Sumerpur Area
The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Sumerpur police station. The deceased has been identified as Sumit. He was a resident of the Banki Road area in Sumerpur town.
Reports indicate Sumit went to attend a party with some friends. During the gathering, he was severely beaten. Two men brought him to the hospital in a critical condition. Doctors at the district hospital declared him dead upon arrival.
Father Alleges Premeditated Murder by Neighbours
The victim's father, Raj Bahadur Yadav, has made serious allegations. He accuses a neighbouring father-son duo of murdering his son. Yadav claims the neighbours harboured an old grudge against his family.
According to the father, these same individuals had assaulted Sumit in the past. He believes the accused planned this attack for many days. Yadav spoke to his son on the phone around 8 PM. Sumit said he would return home soon. Shortly after this conversation, Yadav received the devastating news of his son's death.
Police Investigation Underway, Blood-Stained Tool Recovered
Police personnel from Sumerpur police station reached the spot promptly. They have taken two men into custody and started interrogation. Officers recovered a blood-stained lever from the crime scene. This tool is typically used for removing truck tyres.
Dr Shashank Gauram of the district hospital examined the body. He stated serious injuries were found on the deceased's head and body. At first glance, it appeared the youth was attacked with a hard object. The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the postmortem report arrives.
Authorities Probe All Angles
It remains unclear whether the crime was committed by people present at the party. The allegations made by the deceased's father are also under scrutiny. Additional Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Gupta addressed the media.
