Woman Critically Injured in Horrific Domestic Assault in Hamirpur Village

A shocking incident of domestic violence has emerged from Tola village under the Rath Kotwali area of Hamirpur district, where a woman sustained severe injuries after being brutally assaulted by her husband during a domestic dispute on Thursday. The victim, identified as Pana, was allegedly attacked by her husband, Phool Khan, in a violent altercation that left her with life-threatening wounds.

Brutal Attack Details and Injuries

According to the complaint filed by the woman's brother, Amruddin, the accused husband, Phool Khan, along with his father, Habib, allegedly subjected Pana to physical abuse and assault. In a particularly gruesome act, Phool Khan is accused of biting Pana's cheek, which required multiple stitches to treat. Even more horrifically, he allegedly used his teeth to sever her nose, resulting in critical injuries that necessitated immediate medical attention.

The victim was first rushed to the community health centre in Rath for emergency treatment. However, due to the severity of her injuries, medical professionals referred her to Orai Medical College for advanced care. She was subsequently shifted to Jhansi Medical College, where she is currently undergoing intensive treatment and remains under medical supervision.

Police Action and Legal Proceedings

Following the complaint by Amruddin, the Rath Kotwali police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) and initiated legal proceedings against the accused. The complaint also alleges that Phool Khan issued death threats to the woman during the assault, adding to the gravity of the charges. Police authorities have confirmed that further action is being taken as part of the ongoing investigation into this brutal case of domestic violence.

This incident highlights the urgent need for stronger measures to combat domestic abuse and protect vulnerable individuals in our society. The community health centre's quick response in referring the victim to higher medical facilities may have been crucial in saving her life, but the physical and psychological scars from such violence often require long-term support and intervention.
