The deceased has been identified as Rajila, wife of Sunil Babu, a resident of Koottampara near Nilambur. According to police reports, the accused, Shanta (70), allegedly attacked her daughter-in-law with a machete after an argument erupted regarding the serving of tea. The victim sustained severe and fatal injuries during the assault, which took place in the family home.
Witnesses and Immediate Aftermath
Rajila's children were present in the house at the time of the incident and reportedly tried to intervene to stop the assault, but their efforts were unsuccessful. The injured woman was quickly taken to a nearby hospital; however, she succumbed to her wounds later, as confirmed by police authorities.
