Wedding Celebration Turns Tragic as Bus Overturns in Thick Fog

A joyous wedding celebration turned into a scene of chaos and injury late Monday night in Bijnor district. A bus carrying approximately fifty passengers met with a serious accident on the Kiratpur-Mandawar Road. The vehicle overturned near the Malan river area, leaving at least thirty-eight people injured.

Dense Fog Blamed for the Accident

Police officials investigating the incident pointed to extremely poor visibility as the primary cause. Dense fog blanketed the region, creating hazardous driving conditions. Driver Mohd Ehsan reportedly lost control of the heavy vehicle as it approached the river. The bus then veered off the road and overturned completely.

Most of the passengers were members of the bride's family, returning home after attending the wedding ceremony. Several children were among those on board the ill-fated bus.

Swift Rescue Operation Saves Lives

Local police responded quickly to the emergency. They launched an immediate rescue operation at the accident site. Emergency personnel worked to extract the injured from the overturned bus and provide first aid.

Medical teams assessed all the victims on the spot. Authorities then transported seven of the more seriously injured individuals to the district hospital for further treatment. The remaining thirty-one passengers received necessary medical attention at the community health centre in Kiratpur.

Police have confirmed a positive update regarding the victims' conditions. All thirty-eight injured people are now reported to be out of danger. Their injuries, while significant, are not life-threatening.

Recovery and Investigation Continue

The accident has highlighted the dangers of driving in severe weather conditions, especially during the winter fog season in northern India. The bus has been removed from the scene, and traffic on the Kiratpur-Mandawar Road has been restored to normal.

Local authorities continue to monitor the situation. They are also investigating the full circumstances surrounding the accident to determine if any additional factors contributed to the driver losing control.
