A worker identified as Kismat Ali, hailing from Singrauli in Madhya Pradesh, tragically passed away at a private hospital in Raipur on Thursday night. According to police reports, the explosion occurred in a steel tube that carries high-pressure steam from the boiler to the turbine at the power plant located in Singhitarai village.
The sequence of fatalities is heartbreaking: four workers died instantly at the scene, nine succumbed to their injuries shortly after the incident, and another seven lost their lives in hospitals on April 15. The deceased represent a cross-section of India's labor force, with six laborers from West Bengal, five from Chhattisgarh, three each from Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh, and two each from Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
