A tragic incident occurred at a higher secondary school in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday, where a Class 10 student was allegedly stabbed to death by a 16-year-old fellow student during an extra class. Police reported that the deceased, identified as Lavkush, 16, was a resident of Pratappur village and attended the school in the same area.
Details of the Incident
According to Circle Officer (Sadar) Devendra Kumar, Lavkush arrived at the school around 7am to attend an extra class when the attack took place. The accused, a 16-year-old student, allegedly stabbed Lavkush multiple times, causing severe injuries to his chest and upper abdomen. Teachers quickly intervened, overpowered the accused, and handed him over to the police.
Police Investigation
During questioning, the accused told police that he attacked Lavkush following a dispute, claiming that Lavkush had been abusing him for the past two to three days. Police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The body has been sent for postmortem examination. The accused has been sent to a juvenile home, officials added.
Lavkush was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with parents and students expressing concern over safety in schools.

Police are investigating the circumstances leading up to the attack. The accused will face legal proceedings in accordance with juvenile justice laws. Authorities have urged calm and assured that strict action will be taken.
