In a grim discovery, the body of an unidentified man was found hanging from a tree in a remote area on the outskirts of Vadodara on Monday afternoon. The incident has prompted a police investigation to determine the man's identity and the precise circumstances leading to his death.
Discovery in an Isolated Spot
The unsettling find was made in Jambua village, a location described by authorities as isolated and surrounded by dense bushes. According to the Makarpura police, the spot's remote nature likely contributed to the body remaining unnoticed for several days before it was finally discovered. The body was reportedly in a semi-decomposed state, complicating immediate identification efforts.
Police Investigation and Initial Findings
Police Inspector A M Gohil of the Makarpura police station provided initial details on the case. "Prima facie, it seems to be a case of suicide as there are no injury marks on the body," stated Gohil. He further explained that the absence of visible wounds suggested no foul play was immediately evident.
To ascertain the definitive cause of death, the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. The police are awaiting the official report, which will shed light on the exact cause behind the death.
Efforts to Establish Identity
With the deceased man's identity still unknown, the Makarpura police have launched a parallel effort to identify him. A key part of this process involves scanning all recent missing person reports filed in the region. The advanced state of decomposition has made visual identification impossible, necessitating reliance on other methods.
The police are pursuing all available leads and have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to piece together the final moments of the deceased and notify his next of kin.
