Two Women Die in Hit-and-Run Accidents in Gurgaon

A 30-year-old woman lost her life after being struck by an unidentified speeding vehicle near Sector 35 in Gurgaon on Wednesday evening. The deceased, identified as Rashmi Devi, had been residing in Begampur Khatola village for the past two months.

Around 4pm on April 29, she was returning home from a nearby shop when the accident occurred near the Sector 35 flight simulation technique centre. A police officer stated, "A vehicle struck her at high speed and fled the scene, leaving her critically injured." She was immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital in Sector 10, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.

Police received information about the accident and proceeded to the hospital, where the body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy. Rashmi's brother, Balram, who traveled from Uttar Pradesh, submitted a written complaint requesting legal action against the driver. Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Badshahpur police station under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). An officer noted, "We are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the vehicle involved and trace the accused driver."

In a separate incident, a 30-year-old woman died after being hit by an unidentified speeding vehicle while crossing Sohna Road on Thursday. The victim, Geeta Kumari, worked as a security guard at Lemon Tree Hotel on Sohna Road. The accident took place around 10am just outside the hotel.

Police reported that a call was received around 10.30am, after which a team arrived at the scene and learned that the injured woman had been taken to a nearby private hospital. Upon reaching the hospital, police were informed that the woman had been declared dead. It was also revealed that her husband worked as a security guard at the same hotel.

An officer said, "We are analyzing the CCTV footage of the area to ascertain the details of the vehicle involved in the accident." A case has been registered at Badshahpur police station under sections 106 and 281 of BNS. The autopsy was conducted, and the body was handed over to the family, the officer added.
