Amritsar Police Nab Two Key Shooters of Gangster Prabh Dasuwal
Two Main Shooters of Gangster Prabh Dasuwal Arrested

In a significant breakthrough against organized crime, the Amritsar Police Commissionerate has apprehended two individuals identified as the primary shooters for a gang operated by foreign-based gangster Prabhjit Singh, alias Prabh Dasuwal. The arrests are part of an intensified crackdown on criminal networks with cross-border links.

Operation Leads to Arrest of Key Assailants

The police operation, conducted on Tuesday, resulted in the capture of Gurpreet Singh, alias Gopi, and Gursahib Singh, alias Sahib. Both men, residents of Amritsar, were allegedly central to executing violent tasks for Dasuwal's syndicate. Authorities acted on precise intelligence regarding their movements and criminal activities within the city.

Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, Mr. Ranjit Singh Dhillon, addressed the media, highlighting the importance of the arrests. He stated that the detained individuals were not just minor operatives but were considered the "main shooters" directly carrying out the gangster's orders. Their arrest is expected to disrupt a major channel of on-ground violence orchestrated from abroad.

Weapons and Evidence Seized

During the arrest, the police team recovered substantial evidence linking the duo to serious crimes. The seized items include:

  • A .32-bore pistol along with live cartridges.
  • A motorcycle used in their criminal activities.
  • Multiple mobile phones and SIM cards, likely used for communication within the network.

The recovery of the firearm is particularly crucial, as it directly ties the suspects to potential shootings and intimidation tactics employed by the gang. The police are forensically examining the weapons and electronic devices to gather further intelligence on the network's operations, funding, and other collaborators.

Ongoing Investigation and Wider Network

The investigation has revealed that Gurpreet Singh and Gursahib Singh were receiving instructions and logistical support from Prabh Dasuwal, who is currently believed to be operating from a foreign country. This modus operandi is common among several Punjab-based gangs, where leaders based overseas remotely coordinate extortion, kidnapping, and targeted violence in the state.

Commissioner Dhillon confirmed that the police are actively pursuing other members associated with this module. The interrogation of the arrested shooters is ongoing to unravel the full extent of the gang's activities, identify their past targets, and expose the financial pipelines supporting them. The police are also investigating their potential involvement in other unsolved crimes in the Amritsar region and beyond.

This successful operation underscores the Punjab Police's continued focus on dismantling gangster networks that threaten public safety. It sends a strong message that individuals carrying out violence at the behest of overseas-based criminals will face swift legal action. The public has been urged to cooperate with law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activities linked to such gangs.
