Palwal Tragedy: Speeding Truck Claims Two Young Lives
On Thursday, a horrific accident unfolded in Palwal district, snuffing out the lives of two motorcycle riders. The victims have been identified as Majlish (25) and Mustak (26), both residents of village Saulkha in Palwal. According to police reports, the duo was returning home after work when their world came to a brutal end.
A senior police officer detailed the sequence of events, stating that a speeding truck rammed into their motorcycle from behind. The impact of the collision was so severe that both victims got trapped under the middle tyre of the heavy vehicle. In a cowardly act, the truck driver immediately fled the scene and remains absconding as of now. Police teams are actively working to trace the accused driver.
In a poignant detail, authorities mentioned that the family of the victims has not yet filed a formal complaint. However, the police have assured that an FIR will be registered against the accused driver as investigations proceed.
Faridabad Hit-and-Run: Elderly Cyclist Killed on Bypass
In a separate but equally tragic incident, a 50-year-old man lost his life in a hit-and-run accident on Wednesday night. The incident occurred near the Purana Palla Pul bypass flyover in Faridabad around 9:15 PM.
The deceased has been identified as Prithviraj, a resident of Surya Vihar Part 2 in Sehatpur. Prithviraj was returning home on his bicycle after finishing his work at a company. As he was crossing the road under the bypass flyover, a speeding Swift Dzire taxi hit him. The force of the collision was fatal, and Prithviraj succumbed to his serious injuries on the spot.
Local residents informed the police about the grisly accident. Mimicking the Palwal case, the taxi driver also chose to escape from the scene. The identity of the taxi driver has not yet been established. Police confirmed that a case will be registered and a thorough investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the culprit.
