Chennai: A tragic accident on Sunday claimed the lives of two brothers, aged 30 and 26, when a speeding car rammed their motorcycle near a flyover. The duo had stopped their vehicle to attend a phone call when the incident occurred.

Details of the Incident

Prithviraj (30) and Kaviyarasan (26) had left their native Thozhuppedu in Chengalpet for their workplace in Chennai on a two-wheeler. They paused near the Paranur flyover and were speaking on the phone when a speeding car hit their bike, throwing them onto the road. Both men suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.

Police Investigation

Police sent the bodies to Chengalpet Government Hospital for postmortem examination. The car has been seized, and the driver, identified as Anand Meenattoor (38) from Kerala, is being questioned. According to police, the brothers worked in Chennai in the construction and electrical sectors and used to visit their hometown every weekend.
